The mandate of Newtonbrook United Church’s Administration Committee is to maintain a safe and well-managed facility for the use of the church members and the community and to ensure smooth day-to-day operation as a basis for providing a “Ministry of Church Maintenance and Enhancement”. There are 6 committee members, including the chair.
Use of Church
Our church space continues to be in high demand. In addition to Sunday worship and other activities by the two congregations (Newtonbrook United Church and Taiwanese United Church in Toronto), many non-profit groups use the church during the week for their programs. Other organizations also operate their programs from the church, including English as a Second Language, the Willowdale Early Years Centre, the Toronto French Montessori School and Spirit of Math.

Newtonbrook United Church is a fully accessible church with a ramp and washroom that accommodates wheelchairs, a wide central aisle, large print bulletins, and an FM sound system to assist those with a hearing impairment.

Members of the congregation can rent space in the church for family functions at a reduced rate. Anyone wishing to rent space for any purpose should contact the church office. 


Audio Visual
The Administration Committee maintains a TV, VCR, slide projector, overhead projector, PowerPoint equipment and a portable sound system. This equipment is used at various meetings and to record services. Services on tape as well as a small selection of VHS biblical tapes are available from the church library and sermons are available on this web site in text.
Maintenance and Improvements
Greening Sacred Spaces
In 2006, a new energy efficient, gas fired heating system was installed as well as several new energy efficient freezers and refrigerators. In 2007, fluorescent lighting was installed as an energy conservation measure. A special effort is made to ensure that the church is well maintained and repairs carried out as quickly as necessary.

The Administration Committee, through the Treasurer, is responsible for establishing and managing the annual church budget, payment of expenses and handling income from a variety of sources.
