- Used with written permission where copy written
- Comply with “All rights reserved” clause by quoting book excerpts only as part of a review of the book
- Email addresses are not used other than to:
- Subscribe/unsubscribe to newsletter
- Send calendar entries to your own or a friend’s address and reminders to your own address upon request
- NUC’s email address, plus the minister(s) business email address(es)
- Calendar entries, Announcements or newsletter stories.
- Only Newtonbrook United Church’s phone and fax numbers will be listed on the website, except for
- Calendar entries, Announcements or newsletter stories
- Scanned letters that are included in a Newsletter
- Published stories included in Newtonbrook in the News
- Password-protected pages
- The Minister’s home phone number for emergencies only
- Pages where questions should not be directed to the church
- Bulk email is sent so that other recipients won’t see anyone else’s email address.
- All information supplied is kept strictly confidential. Personal information included in email messages from the website to the church’s email address, such as name, phone number, email address, question or message is used only to respond to specific questions or comments, or to forward to appropriate church group contact. It will not be sold, published, made public, shared with third parties, or used for commercial purposes or unsolicited email. Exceptions to this policy are:
- A disclosure required by law
- Disclosure or other use is authorized by sender
- As with all Internet sites, Newtonbrook United Church’s hosting server automatically records details such as type of browser, IP address, and referral web site. None of the data contains names, email addresses or other personal information.
- All third party web sites used (calendar, newsletter subscription, breaking news and content management) have published privacy policies consistent with Newtonbrook’s policy. The calendaring function’s privacy policy states “CRI™ does not share, sell or trade e-mail addresses, phone numbers, information collected as part of a survey, or specific details about you or your Church. We do not contribute to or participate in shared or cooperative databases, which give other companies access to your personal information. We do not release credit card or financial information for use by other companies. For both privacy and security purposes, all transactional information communicated between customers and our Web sites is transmitted in an encrypted format.”
- Copyright for all items posted on the Newtonbrook United Church website remains with the authors. Items can be used without further permission for non-commercial educational or religious purposes only.
